Rob began his lighting career with the National Youth Theatre and has subsequently worked on productions throughout the UK and in Australia, America, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Russia, Lebanon, Belgium, Denmark, France and Germany. His lighting designs include The Merry Wives of Windsor and Hamlet at the Neuss Festival, Kiss Me Kate, Maggie May, The Fix, City of Angels and Hair at LAMDA, Happy End, Into The Woods, Sweeney Todd, The Wiz, A Little Night Music, The Baker’s Wife and A Chorus Line at the Royal Academy of Music, Our Country’s Good at Guildhall, The Recruiting Officer in Colchester, Groping for Trouts in a Peculiar River at BAC, and Is There Life After High School at the Bridewell.
Rob also works as a Lighting Programmer, translating other designers’ visions for shows into the practicalities of modern-day automated lighting rigs. In this role his shows have included Mary Poppins, Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, Guys and Dolls, Ragtime, Oklahoma!, Oliver!, Anything Goes, The Witches of Eastwick, The Coast of Utopia, Martin Guerre, Putting It Together, Hey Mr Producer! and many more.
Rob was a guest artiste at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts in 2004, and is a regular contributor to a range of lighting-related publications.back
